Reclaimed tomettes in Terra Cotta
The "tomettes" are terracotta tiles, of a square or hexagonal shape, intended to be used as flooring.
In Provence, they are always hexagonal in shape, nesting fashion leaving virtually no seal and provides a very smooth floor, soft and fresh.
The best known are of course floor tiles from Salernes. Produced from the 1930s, the exceptional quality of ferruginous red clay deposits of Salernes town have made their reputation.
