Very wide Louis XVI Style pink marble mantle

Very beautiful 19th century arched mantle of the Louis XVI Style. This piece is very large. It was carved into a very lovely pink marble veined white and gray.

Its jambs are positioned on either side of the hearth. They feature an original shape and join the baluster with the finger-fluted pilaster. Their sides are decorated at the top, in the widest part, with volutes (unconventional motifs in the Louis XVI style). The lintel is carved with finger flutes along its entire length, it is framed by protruding diamond-shaped square blocks. The molded shelf looks like a cornice protruding over the whole piece.
