Superb village wash-house in aged and patinated stones

This beautiful village wash-house is a unique wall fountain hand-crafted in Provence with beautiful and genuine reclaimed stones : quality aged and patinated natural stones.


The basin is rectangular and elongated. It is fitted with large and thick sloping curbstones, reminiscent of a traditional wash house, that rest on a basement made of large blocks of stones. This basin is divided in two by a thick central overflow stone allowing the water to spill from one basin to the other.

The wide stonework pediment is flanked by 2 hand-sculpted corbels. An imposing tilted capital overlooks it. An antique cast iron water spout placed in the center of the pediment offers a generous flow.

This wash-house reminds us of sunny Provence and the time of the washerwomen. Its beautiful stones and lovely natural patina give it a unique charm and presence.
Of a simple beauty, it attracts the eye.
