Superb village wash-house in aged and patinated stones

This beautiful village wash house with 2 basins and spill is a unique crafted composition made entirely from beautiful and genuine reclaimed stones : quality aged and patinated natural stones.

The basin of this washhouse is rectangular and elongated. It has large and thick sloping curbstones that delicately rest on a base made of large blocks of dressed stones. This basin is separated in two by a thick stone sculpted in such a way to allow the spill of the water from one basin to the other. The pediment, also composed of a beautiful apparatus of ancient stones, is wide and offers pretty hand-carved corbels on each side. An imposing tilted capital overlooks it. An antique cast iron water outlet placed in the center of the pediment offers a generous flow.

This washhouse reminds us of sunny Provence and the time of the washerwomen. Its beautiful stones and their natural patina give it a unique charm. Of a simple beauty, it attracts the eye.
