Pair of large Medici vases with handles sold with their pedestals

This pair of Medici vases crafted around 1980 in composite stone bears now a beautiful natural patina.

These 2 magnificent garden vases with handles feature a rich sculpted ornamentation. The molded pedestal is carved with fine grooves, the lower part of the vase is decorated with opulent gadroons and the upper edge which flares out into a molded rim is carved with cat's tongues. We will also note the magnificent carved decorations of scrolls and acanthus leaves on the 2 handles (which are removable).

Mounted on a thick 38 x 38cm square base, this superb Medici vase rests on a small rectangular stone pedestal decorated with moldings and, on all 4 sides, breastplates with molded recessed corners.

Each vase is already fitted with a small drainage hole at the bottom, and hence could easily be diverted into a stunning and sustainable planter to accommodate your most beautiful flowers and plants !
