Wonderful pair of antique andirons with beautiful details ** SOLD

Superb pair of antique wrought iron andirons featuring beautiful details. The horizontal bars are long and slightly inclined. The finials of the andirons are wonderful with scrolls, twists and other arabesques. They thus highlight the work of the craftsman of the 18th century who made this piece. The 2 legs are curved and finished with beautiful volutes.

The andirons are fireplace accessories that are placed in the hearth. They are used to support logs to control wood ventilation. Besides their decorative use, they also serve to prevent logs from rolling out of the fire.
