Large wall fountain with pediment hand-sculpted with a pair of angels with trumpet

This charming wall fountain in carved weathered natural limestone is a unique water featurehandcrafted in our stone cutting Atelier in Provence.

It features a large yet shallow rectangular basin made of massive cubic basement stones on which rest thick sloping wash-house-like copings on 3 sides.

The magnificent pediment in antique stones and the wide overhanging molded cornice are authentic antique reclaimed elements. They were salvaged from a former 5-star hotel, the Mas de Chastelas, located in Gassin (Var), near Saint-Tropez.

This long pediment is hand-sculpted in relief with 2 angels sitting back to back, each carrying a trumpet. In the center, a  sculpted spillway in stone inserted into a stone decorated with a molded breastplate allows the water to flow into a small basin. The water then overflows into the main basin.

The superb triangular molded cornice is enlivened on either side with beautiful sculptures of bearded men' heads, reminiscent of ancient Mesopotamian or Babylonian masks.
