Under the reign of Louis the XVth, a symbol of a shell is often sculpted on the lintel, usually at its middle, and can also often be seen on the tops of each leg. The overall shape of the mantel becomes more curvy, and we can also see thaht the trumeau is now replaced by a mirror.
