This charming antique fireplace was hand-carved by 18th Century skilled stonemason from beautiful soft ochre-hued stone.

This traditional Louis XV mantel in style and period features a pair of gracefully curved jambs adorned with finely sculpted moldings that run the full height. These bolection style moldings continue underneath the lintel, harmoniously framing the entire hearth opening. They converge at the center in two elegant carved volutes. The straight lintel, forming a shelf, is also finely molded. The overall decoration perfectly reflects the elegance and refinement characteristic of the Louis XV style.
