Regency style hard white stone mantle

Antique Regency style stone fireplace.

It has a quite geometric style. Its crossbow lintel is decorated with a lovely central hand-carved shell. It is topped by a thin molded shelf that features the same movement that the one of the lintel. Its jambs are curved and molded. These moldings go up to the bottom of the lintel surrounding the hearth opening: characteristic feature of the Regency and the Louis XV styles
