Antique Louis XV style fireplace carved in white stone

This large antique fireplace has been hand-carved in a beautiful natural white limestone. An elegant mantel which decor fits perfectly in the Louis XV style (1715-1774).

This beautiful fireplace presents thin curved jambs ending in console. They rest on thick rectangular hooves. The monolithic lintel which also forms the tablet is nicely sculpted with a succession of thin hand-carved moldings on both the tablet and the sides. This hand-sculpted decoration is carried over the entire hearth opening, thus highlighting it beautifully.
