Louis XIII style antique stone fireplace with trumeau
This Louis XIII-style fireplace was crafted from the white limestone of Beaucaire, quarried in Provence. This antique fireplace features an Arlésienne style (a classic design typical of the city of Arles Provence). It was carefully dismantled from a former nursing home.
This rare and rather uncommon mantelpiece features a pair of sturdy console jambs resting on footblocks. Both the lintel and the mantel shelf are exceptional ! Carved from a single block of stone, the lintel is beautifully sculpted with elegant moldings and a graceful curved profile, while the wide and finely molded shelf provides ample space for decorative objects.
The stonework trumeau is proportionally smaller than the lower section of the fireplace, emphasizing the structure’s stately presence. The cornice is also finely hand-molded, completing the sophisticated design.
A stylish and unique fireplace that will bring character and elegance to any interior.
