Antique Louis XIV style soft stone fireplace with trumeau

This Louis XIV style antique fireplace is made of soft calcareous stone. It has a beautiful patina with warm colors.

The pair of curved jambs with hips is slender and rests on thick foot blocks. The lintel that looks like a shelf is straight and monolithic. It offers beautiful thin moldings as well as a bigger molding that runs along its lateral sides. The trumeau is quite sober. It ends with a very lovely finely molded cornice.

An antique simple fireplace which will adapt perfectly to any type of interior decoration. Note that this fireplace can be used both as an open hearth or a closed hearth with an insert.
