Antique cast iron fireplace plate : Crown and Lily Flowers ** SOLD

This antique cast iron plate with cut sides dates from the 18th century. Forged in France, this fireback proposes a rather sober theme : the French Coat of Arms, a crown and some fleurs-de-lis.

The coat of arms of the 3 Fleur de Lys (the French Royal House) is inscribed in the center of a rich crown made of foliage, flowers and palm branches (representing the victory), itself highlighted by other lily flowers.
