Antique 19th-century Volvic stone fireplace

This antique fireplace dating from the 19th century is inspired by the French Regency style mantelpieces. It features sculpted ornamentation associated with this style : clean, straight lines and neoclassical motifs.

The low-arched lintel features an opulent molding and a beautifully hand-sculpted central motif set within a cartouche depicting a flower and foliage. This decorative centerpiece is flanked by recessed panels, echoing the motifs found at the top of the jambs. The shelf is thin and molded. The straight jambs are adorned with simple, geometric moldings.

This large antique mantel is carved from beautiful gray volcanic stone : the stone of Volvic.

A charming fireplace sure to enhance your living space !
