Antique cast iron fire back: Gothic Coat of Arms

This antique cast iron fire back is of the Gothic period. It features quite sober decorative elements in relief. It is divided into three equal vertical parts: the central part is decorated with a small cross (also called crosslet). This cross looks like a twisted rope and figures above an orb (circle). The other two parts are decorated with a star with 8 branches looking like twisted rope.

This Gothic Style antique fire back is thick and large. It was made in France and is in good condition.
