Louis XVI style antique mantle made of red marble veined with white

This beautiful antique mantle is made of a pretty red marble veined with white. It dates from the 19th century and is of the Louis XVI style. This style is characterized by straight, pure and geometric lines and Antiquity inspired decorative elements.

A thick shelf rests on a molded lintel decorated with panels and 2 sculpted squares above the jambs. The straight jambs are fluted and rest on foot blocks.
