Beautiful Louis XVI style grey marble mantle

This antique grey breccia marble mantle richly veined with white was made in the 19th century. It is inspired by the Louis XVI geometric style. This style is characterized by straight and pure lines as well as geometric motifs and Antiquity inspired decorative elements.

The lintel is rectangular and centered by an engraved cartouche and 2 beautiful carved rosettes just above the jambs. The jambs are straight and feature beautiful finger flutes. The tablet is thin and molded.
