Sober and elegant Louis XIV stone fireplace with trumeau
This antique stone fireplace with trumeau dates from the end of the 17th century. This Louis XIV-style fireplace presents a pair of inclined jambs that elegantly support a monolith lintel and a thin molded shelf. The hood (or trumeau) is surmounted by a finely overhanging molded cornice called "rejingot". The trumeau has in its center a sculpted frame in relief, designed to receive a painted decoration or a mirror.
An ancient fireplace, which by its sober side, will adapt perfectly to any type of interior decoration.
