French Regency style fireplace in stone with shell and palmette decorations

This reclaimed antique stone fireplace is a large French Regency style mantel in beautifully worn and patinated by time carved limestone that features the main characteristics of that style dating the early 18th century.

First of all, with a finely hand-sculpted palmette in the center of the lintel and with beautiful shells sculpted on top of each jambs. Then, with the all the curved elements, typical of the Regency and Louis XV style.

The shelf is finely molded. The jamb is curved and ends in a console. The monolithic lintel is finely sculpted with a mold that follows the hearth line. The jambs rest on thick rectangular chamfered bases.

An elegant stone fireplace perfect to embellish your home !
