Exceptional French Louis XIII fireplace in stone

This exceptional white limestone fireplace, a Louis XIII period mantelpiece, features a superb and finely molded overhanging cornice with multiple recesses. The wide monolithic keystone lintel rests on a pair of massive and sturdy jambs. These jambs are straight and inclined obliquely. They rest on imposing bases. The lintel is enhanced by a beautiful hand-sculpted rosette in the center. The beautifully molded hearth profile is crafted with curves and counter-curves.

The imposing proportions of this French 17th-century mantel make it a remarkable architectural element for your home.
