Wonderful Louis XIII style antique countryside fireplace

This 17th Century, Louis XIII style antique limestone countryside fireplace made of stone carved from quarries which no longer exist in the city of Combles en Barrois in the French department of Meuse.

Its slender monolithic jambs offer a very typical large hearth opening. In fact, during the 17th Century, fireplaces were used both for cooking and warming very large spaces. The keystone lintel is also monolithic.

This fireplace was salvaged in an antique farmhouse situated in the city of Bar-le-Duc.

Its simple appearance will easily outfit your authentic living space and will definitely warm up your home.
