Antique Louis XIV style red marble fireplace

This 19th century - Louis XIV style antique fireplace is made of red marble nicely veined with white. With its straight legs and lintel, it is made as a frame: the vertical parts and the horizontal part are proportioned and symmetrically molded. The right-angle molding reinforces this effect. A bolection molding delimits the hearth. The molded shelf is the only element that breaks the frame illusion. This whole piece rests on foot blocks.
