Reclaimed fireplace in weathered limestone with molded lintel

This antique country-style fireplace dating from the 19th century is a large reclaimed mantel in carved gray limestone beautifully worn and patinated by time.

Its straight monolithic lintel with wide overhangs is animated in its center by a star sculpted by hand in relief. It is also decorated with beautiful moldings, including an opulent "boudin" that carries on along the jambs, thus surrounding the large hearth opening.
The 2 massive jambs are straight and slightly rounded and fretted on the front.

This rustically charming reclaimed mantel had been restored (tablet).

It will nevertheless and undoubtedly be a major asset to your living room and will add a touch full of charm and authenticity.
